The printmaking workshop was held at the University of Nottingham on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th November 2013. The two day workshop covered Monoprinting and Collograph printing techniques, using images relating to individual thesis proposals.
Mono print enables the laying down of tone and compositional space to create depth in 2D imagery using stencil techniques and working from dark to light – using a limited monotone colour palette. From this study a collagraph plate was made using a piece of mountboard, this allowed the students to access tone and composition via surface texture.
